~Shoots For A Cure~

Posted on February 7, 2012

Yolanda Marie Photography is excited to announce a partnership with Shoots for a Cure (formerly known as Think Pink Photography). This organization serves two main purposes- celebrating life and supporting the cancer cause. Through their professional photographer network, they are helping cancer patients to celebrate life with charitable photography sessions.

Individuals who have been affected b…y cancer may choose to document their fight against the disease before or during treatment, or they may prefer to capture their victory by scheduling a session within 12 months after treament is completed. Clients participating in a Shoots for a Cure session will receive a complimentary photo session, as well as a set of 10 small prints from the session.

Photographers world-wide are now available to donate time and talent to celebrate life and support the cause. I am very proud to be part of a network photographer with Shoots for a Cure and am anxious to get the word out about this amazing program. For more information, you can contact me, or you can visit the Shoots for a Cure website at http://shootsforacure.com/. Please pass this on if you know someone who might benefit from this or who wishes to support this cause. Thanks!

366 Day Challenge

Posted on January 23, 2012

I wanted to do one of these last year, but didn’t start in time.  So I have challenged myself to continue to grow as a photographer.  I am trying to take 1 photo a day.  It can be of anything or anyone, it is just meant to push me past my “comfort zone”.  I would love for you to join me on this adventure.  Please see my other blog, dedicated only for the challenge.

Here’s to a GREAT 2012!!!!

Baby ~Aiden~ Growing Years

Posted on December 16, 2011

Aiden is the adorable son of two of my “real” jobs co-workers.  He is so cute and sweet.  I was so excited when they asked if I would take his 3 month photos.  Mom and Dad wanted to capture the last little bit of fall, which we did in just the nick of time.  Mom dressed Aiden in adorable courds and a double breasted sweater, he is going to be a heartbreaker.

Aiden was sound asleep when we started but soon woke up and gave me some great little faces.

Look at all that attitude! :)

Couldn’t pass up an antique finish with an antique box and a double breasted sweater!

Love the baby toes!

Thank you Baby Aiden’s parents for letting me capture all this cuteness!

Niko and Debra ~Engagement~

Posted on December 16, 2011

Debra is baby Stockton’s fun loving, funny and outgoing aunt that I became fast friends with when she stayed with Jeff and Lynnette for a summer.  Debra met Niko in grad school in France.  Niko is a native of Finland and fit in just fine with the NC life.  My husband and I spent lots of time with Debra and Niko when they were living here and were sad to see them move to Ireland.  It was no surprise when Niko finally popped the question to Debra, and of course she said YES!  Debra and Niko came in town for a brief trip to visit family and I was able to spend a few hours one morning capturing these moments.  They were absolutely amazing to photograph.  Debra is such a natural in front of the camera and need no direction at all.  I will say some of these photos are some of my favorites that I have ever done.

Debra and Niko decided to show their fun side in the photos and we came out with some pretty funny pictures.

Congratulations Debra and Niko.  I hope you have many years of happiness together!  Thanks for letting me capture this special moment.

Stockton ~Growing UP~ 3 Months

Posted on December 16, 2011

I can’t believe that this precious little boy is 3 months old already, well because I am behind on blogging he is well past that.  Little Stockton is such an amazing baby and was growing leaps an bounds.  Baby Stockton’s mama wanted to get some great fall photos and we decided to take advantage of a wonderful, crisp, fall morning.

Baby Stockton was so excited, his mama was singing his favorite lullaby.

I can’t believe he can stand like this at such a young age…and  he loves it!

Daddy wasn’t feeling well but we were able to get in a few shots.

What a gorgeous family!!!!

Just love those baby arms!!!!!!!

And had to end it with a favorite black and white!

Thanks to Baby Stockton’s family for letting me capture these moments for you!

The Honeycutt Kids ~Growing Up~

Posted on November 6, 2011

When I was first starting out, I know it was just last year, Cheryl was a great support and told me that she would love for me to do pictures of her kids.  She said she had invisioned them on an old railroad track.  I loved the idea and was ready for the challange of three kids at once.  Cheryl had the perfect spot in mind and we met on a beautiful day and got some great photos.  All three kids were so relaxed and comfortable in front of the camera.

Stockton ~Arrived~

Posted on November 6, 2011

A little while back I had the privilage of photographing my dear friends Lynnette and Jeff during their maternity.  Well at the end of June they welcomed Stockton Michail into the world.  I was so excited when we were finally able to get together to do Stockton’s newborns photos.  He is such a precious little boy.  Born with a full head of dark hair and big blue eyes.  I can’t wait to see how he grows over the next year and on.

Scarlet and Tristan’s Photos | Cary, NC

Posted on November 3, 2011

Allison is a dear friend of mine from years back.  We grew to know each other over many lunches while working together.  Allison had her 1st child, Tristan, just over 2 years ago.  Shortly after he turned 1 Scarlet arrived in this world.  I was honored when Allison asked if I would do some 1 year old pictures of Scarlet and 2 year old photos of Tristan.  We did these 2 seperate times and locations.

First up was Scarlet at Yates Mill in Raleigh, NC.  We had lots of fun in such a beautiful location.  Scarlet is an adorable little girl that is growing so quickly.

Scarlet was so happy all morning until mommy had to run to the car to grab something.  But she gave me some great tears and an amazing eyelash shot.

Next up was Tristan.  We met at Lake Crabtree in Cary, NC and had a great time running around the open fields.  It had rained all day and was really cloudy, but I was just happy Tristan didn’t get all muddy.  Tristan was a little shy at first but I think he opened up by the end.

Just like his sister with amazing lashes!

Thank you Allison and Josh for letting me capture such great moments of your beautiful children!

In May I had the privilage of being a 2nd photographer for Charlene and Kerri’s wedding in Fuquay Varina.  I was asked by my great friend and fellow photographer Danelle Wagner with Images by Elle in Muncy, PA.  Danelle and I go way back, she use to be my boss when I worked at American Eagle Outfitters.  Danelle moved back to PA last year but agreed to do Charlene’s wedding because Charlene was a teacher at her son’s school before she moved.  I was excited to get the opprotunity to work with Danelle and to photograph another wedding.

I spent most of my time with the guys while Danelle was with the girls, but I was able to get some great shots of the BEAUTIFUL bride!

One of my favorites!

The guys looked great in their suits and were so much fun!

They agreed to try anything!

As the clouds gloom over head and the raindrops start to fall, the wedding went on.

A great groomsman made sure the bride and groom stayed as dry as possible.

But the sun came out at the end and made for some great photos!

Ok, I know I have been REALLY behind on posting…but I have 4 posts coming up this week, I promise.  Stay turned for Charlene and Kerri’s wedding, Baby Stockton’s arrival, Tristan and Scarlet’s 1 and 2 year old photos and The Honeycutt kids. Oh and I could I forget…our Jamaican vacation.  =) I have had so much fun doing all of these and I can’t wait for everyone to see them.

I will be getting ready to do some fall photos, now that the weather is so nice, so please let me know if you are interested and also, please pass my name along to your friends.  Don’t forget, Christmas is just around the corner and now is a great time to plan your Christmas card photos.
